BKF Backpack (Mi/Humawaca)
This Ingrid Gutman original for Humawaca and Mi is based on the iconic leather and enamelled steel chair designed by Argentinean, Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy for Grupo Austral. Introduced at the 3rd Salon de Artistas Decoradores interior design exhibition in Buenos Aires in 1940, the BKF 198 – also known as the Hardoy Sling and the Butterfly Chair – became an instant classic, selling more than 5,000,000 in the 1950s alone.
Humawaca’s interpretation is also set to become a design classic: the anamorphic shape sits elegantly on the wearer, becoming more an integral article of clothing than simply an accessory or adornment. The concealed interior protects your precious belongings from the natural elements and the urban environment alike.
