We always hang out for our weekly dose of OK! magazine … a bit of gossip, fashion, hair & beauty never goes astray, particularly when there’s the fringe benefit of seeing the Angel Jackson POW! satchel ($550)!

This London-based Irish fashion and accessories designer needs no introduction: Orla Kiely has quietly developed somewhat of a cult following for her classic stem and flower designs since she emerged on the world stage with her first collection in 1997.

The designer’s creativity knows no limits – from hats to handbags and everything in-between, Orla Kiely has recently worked with Citroen to design a limited edition DS3 with her distinctive stem pattern. This isn’t Orla Kiely’s first foray into motoring fashions, having decorated a London double-decker bus in her hallmark stem print once, too!

We love Marie Claire Australia at the best of times, but especially when they put out a whole edition dedicated to fabulous accessories, including stunning pieces by Angel Jackson (472 Spangle satchel), Rebecca Minkoff (5-Zip clutch), Treesje (Crimson clutch) and Fiona Paxton (Milly cuff).

Let’s face it, one of the best parts about winter is being able to indulge in cosy winter getaways. What could be nicer than sipping on a delicious hot chocolate in front of a crackling open fire while browsing your favourite magazines?

Make a weekend away even easier by packing simply: we’re opting for a large, roomy Botkier ‘Venice’ satchel which works double-duty, from overnighter to daytime tote in one quick move. Add a Borne Naked ‘Traveller Pack’ to keep all your essentials neatly in check (including a bottle or two of butter LONDON nail lacquers for quick touch-ups or an afternoon of mani-pedi bliss), and you’re good to go!

If we had a choice, we’d be off to a luxury lodge in New Zealand, like Sherwood Lodge or perhaps Hotel Esplendor in Argentina’s Patagonia.  On second thoughts, maybe a Koko Black Easter Bunny and a toasted marshmallow or two closer to home will do the trick!

The runways have been ablaze with bright, pop colours, with orange proving the lead favourite by a fashionista’s mile. Blocked, striped or printed, either way, orange is making its mark from shoes to shoulders and everything in-between. Our particular favourites included Céline’s colour-blocking and Prada’s stripes, but our true love is reserved for Balenciaga’s perfect shoes (thank you, M. Ghesquière!).

Hot orange works well on almost all skin tones (incredible, we know!) and is a fabulous accent for each base colour, be it black, navy, brown, tan or grey. Gosh, it’s no wonder this hue is enjoying such a solid workout.

Yet, we accept that it’s not for everyone to don colour head-to-toe. Instead, opt for some sharp accessories in classic styles, like the Angel Jackson Foldover clutch in matt orange snakeskin. Its large, structured shape adds a bolt of colour (we’re loving it worked against grey) and its portable size means you can conceal it in your work bag and flash it out for after-hours drinks. Still not sure? An easy way to try this trend is with an orange cashmere scarf – a quick way to brighten a winter’s look. An even easier way to try on some colour is with a slick of nail polish … it’s fantastic how just one coat can completely transform your lookand your mood!
